Yacht steering station believed to be from 1939 Nordwind

Appraisal complete
Description My father passed away and I inherited this from him. It's a steel ship's wheel, pedestal and compass housing. He said it was from Karl Donitz, the head of the Nazi Navy's personal yacht. Did a bit of research and figured out the yacht he was referring to was most likely the Nordwind, sister ship to "Hitler's yacht" the Ostwind. The Nordwind is currently operating out of the UK. I don't have any authentication or details of how he acquired it, although he had it most of my life (I was born in 74). I do know the Nordwind had a restoration in the late 70s. Attached are photos of the complete steering station as well as the plaque on the backside.
