French Bottle Whimsical Couple 1698 Mark

Description
Do you more about this whimsical bottle with lid that may be a tea caddy.  It is about six inches high. It seems to be faience.  It has a mark of "1698" on bottom with the term "France" and a type of foundry/potter's mark.  The lid is just laid on, there is no screw nor cork nor any evidence of cork.

I just noticed at the side bottom on one side there looks like a flake was missing and someone used a marker or dye to do a repair.  Most people wouldn't notice this but since I did I wanted to make sure that any possible buyer would know beforehand.  I added two new photos at the auction but don't see a way to add more here.
