This was bought from JC Pennies in the 70's for $117, I was told that it has been painted with real gold. Windsor, spring peonies 1602 and I can not find any info at all about it.
I was unable to find any detailed information about your particular painting, but I can tell you what I know... Windsor Art Company made licensed reproductions of art at affordable prices. Your painting is from after 1963, as the back label has a zip code. They also often added a few brush strokes to each painting to give it a more "real" look. It's very possible that it's done on gold leaf, but this is rather unexpensive. WAC paintings are fairly common on the marketplace and rarely sells for more than $30...
