Civil War hand carved relief walking cane. This cane was carved by my father's step Grandfather, 2nd Lt. Jacob B Swisher (first person pictured in the Members of the 57th Indiana Infantry Lookout Mountain, Tennessee picture). The cane is 35 inches long. In very good condition it displays many items that belonged to Jacob B Swisher. I.E., dog, pipe, bugle, saw, ladder, axe, shovel, knife, gun, bottle with cup, Wording states: LOOKOUT.MOUNTAIN.TENN.NOV.24,1863.LT.J.B.SWISHER.57.IND.VET.VOLS. LINCOLN.AND.JOHNSON.FOR.EVER. Notes: - Part of the "B" in J.B.SWISHER, is worn - The "E" & "V" in EVER are worn The photo was taken from a stock photo on the web. Also, the original photo is in a small museum in Lookout Mountain.
