Mom's Antique Statue, passed down from father

Appraisal complete
Description

Good day, my mom has had this statue for my entire life. She says it belonged to her father and he claimed to have gotten it in France when he was young. (Think early 20th century) He was also VERY protective of it. She doesn't know anything else about it however. We don't know even who it it is a depiction of.  My assumption is that it is religious in nature but I do not know. I can see no apparent markings on it to identify it. It is old and in rough shape, so for all I know they could have rubbed off?  My hope is somebody here might know more about it.  Thank you for looking!
