Sampler 1825

Description

This was a sampler created in 1825 by my great, great grandmother, Mariah Sever when she was 10 years old. Her needlework was done in silk. She came from a wealthy family, but her mother Annie Mariah Houghton gave all of her money to a museum and her cats. She was the great grandmother of my father , Richard Hillman Adams ( related to John, Sam and John Quincy Adams). I have always loved having this, and will pass it down to the eldest Adams daughter ( my niece).
