English Campaign Chest 1800's

Description

this beautiful chest/lock box has no key. and I can tell that it was mounted to its legs at a much later date. It has 2 hidden drawers in the front of chest! Is this British ,oak? Mid 19th Century? Any help would be appreciated.

Most of these are mahogany…

Most of these are mahogany which will bleach out like this one if exposed to bright sunlight, such as being place in front of a window for years. Values vary, those with a provenance to a famous owner or battle being the most sought after. Most comparable desks currently sell for under $450.00 at auction, at $250-$375.
