Antique Child's School Desk, Oak and Cast Iron

Description

I bought this child's desk at an auction about the 17 years ago. Potentially from the 1890s. I cannot find anything exactly like it to gauge its value. Condition is very good for age with minor imperfections that look like they're made by a student. All original hardware is intact and in working condition. Drawer shows handmade dovetail construction. Top tips up beautifully. Some slight water staining inside the drawer. I am wondering if this is E. W. A. Rowles but there are no markings. This is a gorgeous desk.

These were all factory made pieces, mass produced in the millions during the first quarter of the 20th Century, but remained in use in some locations through the 1950's. Values for them tend to be very modest at under $50.00 https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/90646274_child-s-oak-school-desk
