Antique Chippendale Style Shell Carved Mahogany Ball and Claw Drop Front Desk

Description

My wife acquired this desk maybe 35 years ago, not sure where or for how much. She's no longer with us, and I'm clearing out and looking to get a fair price for this. I did have a partial label that said "Rockford ILL. Wondering if you can date it and provide any enlightening information and value. Thanks so much for anything you can provide.

I am looking to sell locally as I do not want to deal with shipping.

It dates from the second Quarter of the 20th century, In the Colonial Revival style, which reproduces early furniture styles made in America Circa 1629-1780. Rockford was a center of furniture production, with a number of companies related to the furniture operating there. These currently go at auction from $200.00- $400.00.
