This piece and a companion were gifted to my grandparents by a rancher they worked for in Hemet, California in 1943. My grandfather was a ranch hand and my grandmother was a house cleaner.
This was once part of a larger bedroom suite, furniture like this was made from about 1920 to World War Two (1939). These were generally maple or birch with walnut or mahogany veneers on the tops and drawer fronts. Most comparables sell at auction for under $150.00.
