Mystery trunk

Appraisal complete
Description

A client of mine was moving and gave me this chest. The only thing he knows about it is that it was his dad's. I wish I could say more, but we really have no information about this chest.

This is what's called a "Steamer Trunk", their flat tops allowed them to be stacked on railroad baggage cars and steamship holds. Most of these date from the late 19th Century through world war one, there were hundreds of companies making them, only a couple produced trunks that sell for big money today. Most like this one go at auction currently for under $100.00.
