Description Believed to be of French origin around 1800, family owned from a grandfather who was a sailing boat (tea clipper) captain in the 19th century out of Dover, England. I’ve tried inspecting and researching this, but not found anything very similar. Believe it is open face, key wound, verge escapement, spade hands, maybe 3 colour gold case, possibly gold but can’t see a recognisable hallmark.
Category Watches and Timepieces
Medium Gold appearance
Distinguishing marks Inside case is a symbol which looks like a man holding something, to the left of digits which appear to be 2917, then a mark which could be a seahorse.
Scratched numbers inside the case maybe from servicing? Inside the edge of the movement seems to be a number 2212.
Condition Good
