Based on the images and the construction details, this piece is actually a reproduction of early english furniture. Based on the dove tail joinery, it probably doesn't date much earlier than about 1880. These revival pieces are very popular during the run up to the bicentennial year and afterwards in the United States, where a number of styles from the pilgrim through colonial periods through the federal periods were reproduced.
