It is signed in pencil, but the artist's signature is illegible. The piece is framed, and the back of the frame features a sticker from "O'Brien's Art & Frame Shop" located in Bessemer City, NC. This information may indicate where the work was framed or purchased.

Distinguishing Marks:

  • Pencil signature in the lower right corner, difficult to decipher.
  • Framed professionally with an O’Brien’s Art & Frame Shop label on the back.

  • Mint: The print and frame appear to be in excellent condition with no visible damage.

Exact dimensions are not provided. Measurements of the artwork within the frame would help clarify this.

Appraisal Insights:

  1. Artwork Medium and Style: If confirmed as an etching, it likely holds value depending on the recognition and significance of the artist.
  2. Framing Information: The presence of the O'Brien's Art & Frame Shop label suggests it was framed professionally, possibly adding value to the presentation.
  3. Artist Signature: Identifying the artist will significantly impact the valuation.

Current Value Estimate:

  • Without knowing the artist, the value is speculative. Unattributed etchings of this quality and condition generally range between $75-$150 depending on demand.
  • If the artist is identifiable and significant, the value could be much higher, potentially reaching several hundred dollars or more.

Recommendations:

  • Consult a professional appraiser or auction house specializing in etchings and works on paper for a precise evaluation.
  • Use a magnifying glass or high-resolution imaging to better decipher the signature, which may provide additional insight into the artist's identity. Identifying the artist could substantially enhance its value.

Selling Potential:

If offered for sale, present it as an etching or print with high-quality photographs of the signature and the artwork itself. Emphasize its excellent condition and professional framing.
