Colonial Double Rail chair, 1800's? Provenance: Owned now by Yasmina Cvijanovic Spector, niece of Sarah (June) Cvijanovic LIVERMORE, daughter of Joseph Mason Livermore and Marjory Livermore nee Stone, Her family had arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in the 1630's. The Livermores lived in Watertown MA, Ipswich MA and Maine.
The chair is obviously old. Many of the "nails" are wood and one can see that some of the repairs are also quite old. The patina is exceptional from wear and age. The label is no longer present; however, I do make out a " 7 9 9 " scratched into the underside. The may be a " 1 " in front, then reading "1799".
