These vintage porcelain salt and pepper shakers feature a charming novelty design of trumpeting elephants in light blue and gray colors. Made in Japan in the 1920-1949 time period, the set includes two working shakers with original cork stoppers. The whimsical animal shape and small size make them a fun and unique addition to any kitchen or collection. The original porcelain shakers and cork stoppers remain in tact with no areas of damage. The unusual salt and pepper openings are located under their trunks.

History Providence: My Uncle Dean brought these shakers back from Japan to give to his mother (my grandmother-original owner). He was stationed while in the Navy during the occupation immediately after World War II. She never used them. They were kept in a curio cabinet until 1994 in a smoke free/pet free home and were then given to me. I've kept them in a box and only recently opened it. They're looking for a new home.
