Description

Longines.  Watch is in perfect working order--it sets, runs and winds extraordinarily smoothly, like new (the leather case is in very poor condition however, and missing one pin). There are many hand inscriptions inside the caseback which implies a solid service history over the years.  I am unsure of the age--I believe the serial number would indicate the movement and case are from 1925.  But many have told me these clocks were only made in a significant volume in the 1930s and 1940s and that since the logo in the 30s does not match this dial, it must be a redial.  I am inclined to think instead that this is just an early example of the 8 day travel clock and the logo may be correct for the 1920s.  I say that because of serial #, and it seems unlikely to me that Longines would have used 5+ year old movements, though this was a challenging time in world economics, and I'm no expert.

In short, I don't even know its age for certain, but would like to know details like that, plus case material, whether it is likely the original dial, and of course, an estimated value.

Thank you so much for looking!
