I acquired this compass/sundial from my grandparents a few years ago. I believe the string is broken as I think both ends were once attached to the compass/sundial. It has some wear due to age (or my grandparents not knowing how to properly preserve it). There is a single bubble in the glass, and the dial still moves fine, although a bit rusted. Thank you for any help.
