Description Growing up my Dad was the head of the paint department at the old MGM in Culver City CA. As a child we visited him often on those lots and while on locations making movies such as How the West was Won in Kentucky and Heavy with A Gun in Old Tucson Arizona etc. I was very fond of spending time with the ladies in both the Make Up Department and Wardrobe Departments. Back in the olden days (the 50's and 60's) both of those departments threw away costumes from movies, props, jewelry and of course loads of make up. I happened to be there the day they were cleaning out an old box while I was chatting with the makeup artist as she emptied it out. I shared with her that for my 8th birthday ny Dad made me a beautiful dressing table with a bench to sit on with a three piece mirror right where I would sit and see myself. I went on to explain that the dressing table had a beautiful white dotted swiss fabric skirt all the way around making it the perfect place to hide stuff from my little brother. I shared that I was eager to fill it with all sorts of pretty girly things. She asked if I was allowed to ware make up and of course I was not...but I did have a couple of those old red Mabelline cakr mascaras that I pretended with. She pulled these two boxes out and asked if I thought they would be girly enough for my new dressing table. Of course I was thrilled. She advised me not to open them unless my mother gave me permission which she never did. Now I'm beyond grown, and am a few years pass retirement. Since I do not collect things such as these I at least wanted to find out if they are worth anything. If anyone knows anything about these or any other items (I have a 2500 sq ft basement filled with stuff from MGM) please do not hesitate to reach out. Talk Soon, Katherine
