Description
"Illustrirtes Cake- & Conditor-Buch" translated into English means "Illustrated Cake & Confectionery Book." This is a decorative trade catalog, recipe and design book of cakes and confectioneries. This Antique was originally published in 1836 by Herman Hueg, a baker and confectioner who also sold baking tools and instruction booklets in the 1890's.
The Front and back covers feature intricate Victorian-era engraving illustrations of cakes, swans and architectural elements. Within the book there are more examples of Victorian-era engraving illustrations as well as piping bag and tip cake decor examples and examples finished cakes using a piping bag and tip.
The Front and back book covers are very thin, detached and fraying. The outside spine of the book is missing, yet all of the pages are still attached. There are some limited water marks on the lower right hand corner pages of the book. All of the pages are intact and contain no writing or highlighting.(See photos for greater detail)
