Re: Geunine Mahogany table # 123, what is this?

There was a association of furniture makers that used this label to guaruntee that the wood used was genuine mahogany and not just a mohogany dye stained hardwood like maple or birch. At the time ( 1920-40's) the word "Mahogany" was being used to describe any furniture with a reddish brown finish, even pieces without any mahogany used in it's construction. This label let customers know what they were buying was mahogany.

Just bought a "end table" for our front porch only to discover it is genuine mahogany (#123). What does this mean? What is the value?
