Asian Bottle

Description

This small bottle is rather unique and has had the relief carved into it, I spotted it in an Op shop only due to seeing the exact same pattern of monkeys on a item presented to the UK Antique Roadshow some months ago, and cannot recall if it was ivory or porcelain - how would I tell ? There is a hallmark on the top right hand corner and if it is not clear enough I could copy it by hand, it is definitly Asian but I do not know if the writing is Japanese or Chinese, the bottle is all one piece with a hollow interior Can anyone shed any light on this item for me, any help would be most apprecaited. Thank you. Sue
