Got this at an antique store in the early to mid 1990s as I needed a trombone to play in school. Wasn't in great shape when I got it but was certainly playable and served it's purpose for several years after that. Now that I'm sure I'll no longer play it, I was looking to sell it but cannot for the life of me find any information on a company or model called Convair. I was thinking it might be made by Conn which would place it in 1929 but I can't find any info on them making a model called Convair.
The markings are on the bell with "Convair" in larger letters above "Elkhart, Ind."
The serial number matches on both parts of the slide and is 237753.
I can't seem to find any information on this instrument and any thing you all can give me would be much appreciated including a general price of how much I should be looking to sell it for given that it's in fair to somewhat poor condition (I'm just guessing at this, I don't really have much experience to base it on but it's got a good amount of varnish missing and has a couple dings in the bell, still fine to play though.)
The site isn't allowing me to upload photos right now but if they would be helpful in determining the trombone's history and value, I can work some more on it.
