<p>Your piece is not early American, it is unlikely it predates 1850. What makes it appear older than it is, is the fact it was most likely made by a small rural shop. Such pieces were hand made through the 1870&#39;s. The &quot;Moustache pulls&quot; on this piece date from the 1870&#39;s and are likely replacements, generally these pieces have round &quot;mushroom&quot; pulls ( handles). At $1000.00, you paid about twice what this piece is really worth. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Lovejoy </p>
