Comitti Mercury Barometer

Description

Unfortunatly i have not got a picture to upload at the moment but can get one on request

Description wise i really dont know how to describe it, but ill try!

it is very striking, imense detail and there isnt a single space on the barometer that isnt covered in detailed wooden carving.

It would appear that the carvings resemble (as i can best describe) hatchet shaped wepons?! with spears, 3 a side, with a "scroll" effect half way up the tubing, by that i mean a scroll of rolled up paper?!

A huge half moon shaped wooden top is above the tubing with plenty of detail.

There is alot of "rolled/spirelled" wood effect around the design

I have never seen anything like this before and have scowerd the internet trying to find anything that sort of resembles what i have here, but with no such luck.

Hoping that maybe this could be a very interesting piece with a very interesting history?

Thanks for looking,

Laura Houston
