Description

We recently purchased a 10 piece Rockford Furniture dining room set consisting of a 54 in diameter table ( with 4 – 10 in leaves), 1 captain’s chair, 5 side chairs (all with leather seats), china cabinet with glass front and sides, sideboard with 3 drawers (top drawer is full width) and a serving table with drawer.  We think it is oak.  Photos are attached.  The previous owner, who is moving to a new, more contemporary home, purchased the set in 1980 at an estate sale.  That owner had the set for many (?) years, but was not the original owner.  There is a very faded paper label on the back of the china cabinet that cannot be read.  The box that holds the leaves has a very tattered paper label with a circular seal that says Rockford Furniture Co. Rockford, Illinois on the left and larger print to the right that says the same.  We would like to know when it was made and an appraised value.

Your suite is in what's called the "Colonial Revival Style', meaning it is based on American Colonial furniture, in this case William & Mary pieces. Most suites of this type date from the 1920's, yours is better quality than most and would sell for over $2500.00.
