Louis XVI Secretary "Monroe Desk"

Description This desk/secretary was obtained by my grandparents in the early 1960's.  My grandfather was an attorney and he purchased this desk from a client of his who lived in France for a time and brought it back to the US with her.  My grandmother kept a magazine featuring the desk on which President James Monroe penned the Monroe Doctrine, and it is seemingly identical to that.  Since that was written in 1823 I am guessing that this is a Louis XVI piece.  The main compartment is stuck and can only be opened a few inches so that is why there are no pics of the inside.  However, this is a recent development.  It was restored once sometime in the 60's but we are unsure what was done.
