French musical dinner plate

Description The plates have a green and gold ring on the outer edge of the plates. Each plate has a different scene and music written in French. The plates are in excellent condition and show very little if any wear.  They have never been used and only displayed for a short time in 1947 and 1948.  Since then they have been carefully stored and cared for.

History These 6 dinner plates and 6 salad plates were given to my parents as a Christmas present by Red Skelton when my father, David Forester, was the musical conductor of the orchestra on Red Skelton's radio show. I have the note that goes with the plates and pictures of the Christmas party at the home of the Skelton's. Also, there are other photos of Red Skelton with my father.
