This is a historic appraisal from our archive.
The Vitascopy was adoped by Thomas Edison to project his kinetascopy films. The Edison Vitascope Theater was opened in Buffalo, NY in 1896. The item I have says its a camera, but when I opened it, I think it is some kind of projector or viewer There are two film reels, one with a film that contains two figures and I can't make out what they are. The film is threaded around gears and is moved by a turning lever attached to the outside. Cannot find where you would view this. The box says this is a color camera, but the film is in black and white. This was made by the Vitascopy Corp., Providence, R.I.
