Rocking chair - carved faces

Description

This chair has seen better days! Has no disinguishing marks other than the carved faces. Appears to be upholstered with some type of leather (?). Chair is stuffed with cotton and straw. Armrests are supported by thin wooden slats. Underside has no markings/label; just three boards. Would like to have an idea what kind of chair this is and/or how old. Trying to decide whether it's worth fixing up.

Thanks!!!
