it seems to be a jar of sorts that has been turned into a lamp.it has a lid on the top.it has a wooden base that it stands on.it comes with a lamp shade but am unsure if it is the original lamp shade.the lamp does work.

Go to Gotheborg.com and go the Marks section. Go to "Later Chinese Marks" and you will find
a similar example. I believe he states it is 1950-1970.
