This what's called a " Press Back " Rocker, after the press carved design in the top rail. These were made in huge numbers during the turn of the 19th century, and a very hot item 100 years later in the 1980's. Demand for them has cooled of considerably, in the rough they now often sell for under $75.00 at auction. Lovejoy
