Description This is a wooden tabernacle with a crucifix and a picture of the last supper on the front under glass. I have no idea of time period.

History This was in the attic in my grandmother's house. She found it there in the 60's.

This is not a Tabernacle, I know exactly what this is, it is a Last Rites Box. This is the box that would be in a Catholic home that when someone was dieing, the priest who made housecalls to administer last rites and this would have been there for the priest to use. Last rights or Extreme Unction has now taken the name of the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick.Here is a helpful video to explain more.http://youtu.be/hEppjWNO2y4
