Description this was given to my family as a gift from our aunt. we are not sure where it came from before her. Im not sure if the artist name is right. v.berk is what appears to be there but again, im not sure if thats what it says.

Hi there, I also have a painting similar to both of yours, signed V. Berk. What I have found out is that he is a German artist, who sometimes signed G.(?) V. Berk. If you do a Google search for 'oil canvas V. Berk' I think you'll see another painting of his on sale for $1,200. I got mine at a thrift shop for $40! Good luck.

These seascapes tend to be generic "Starving Artist" pieces sold at hotel conference centers and " Art on the Fence" traveling art shows. Generally the artists paint these pieces in multiples of the same scene for sale to Art wholesalers. In most cases values for them in the secondary market tend to be rather modest unless the Artist developed a following of collectors.
