1758 Benedict Georgian Period Plate - Gold Color

Description This item came from my husbands grandparents home. It is in mint condition. The bottom is etched 1157 G O. And on the side on bottom it is engraved with Benedict Georgian 1758 as well with E.R.N.S. B.M.M. Period Plate with a little diamond shape symbol. Rather than silver, it is gold.

EPNS Electroplated nickle silver. Electroplating did not begin till 1840. Pope Benedict XIV, died in 1758. The Georgian era is a period of British history covering the period from 1714 to 1830. Benedict-Proctor is the company mark (diamond) founded in 1910 in Canada, factory closed in 1982.
