Description The back side of frame is extremely dark in color. The painting is not original to the frame, yet canvas is a brownish color on the backside. The frame is beautiful and i would like to clean it. I can see small, round, rusty nail heads around the back of the frame (i assume, holding it together). I am of course interested in the paintings history.

Distinguishing marks Berlin, date is questionable, i cannot read the artist's signature due to penmanship

Condition Excellent

Size and dimensions of this item Painting is 27 3/4" x 24", frame is 35 1/2" x 31 7/8" at furthest points

Date Period 1453 or 1953

Weight 15 lbs

History A friend of mine bought it at an estate auction.
