Description I was told by a woman that sold this item to me that it has been passed down from her ancestors who are American Indian. She said it was a water carrier (not sure about that)but I would like some information on the possible history of it such as a tribe that would have made it. The wooden carrier is clearly hand carved out of wood and the bottom has either elk or deer hide on it. The rope looks to be braided horse hair.
