Strange hand made (in Mexico?) statue man. Very unique and would like some info as to the rarity of this ststue.

Description This odd man stands on a wooden block and look like he might be a figure of a gold miner or from that era. I was so intrigued by this little man and his female compannion. They each shar ethe same charicteristics and are clearly made by the same person. I had to buy it. Now I am left wondering what, where, and who made them. The man has a mustache a hat, and long hair, maybe shoulder length. I can furnish a photo upon request. I believe they were made in mexico, or possibly spain. because it says "hand made" in espanol. Please if you have any ideas, feel free to share. Thanks so much.
