Monroe "Executive", Model L160X - 1929 Vintage

Description The Monroe L series was introduced in the late 1920s, and continued on through many revisions until the end of production. The basic mechanism is almost identical to the K series, but has been "miniaturised" to only one-quarter of the bulk. The L160X is a portable hand-cranked calculator that was first introduced in 1929. The body of the machine is only 3-1/2" high, with a fold-down stand at the rear. When first introduced, these "Executive" machines were supplied with their own fitted leather briefcase. Monroe Model L 160-X Executive. This model was first shown at Monroe's High Point Club in September of 1928. Introduced on january 22, 1929. The price was $250.00. Monrie first launched their sales organization in 1915. They could not keep up with the demand. First models were the D, E, F and G square-cornered and clumbersome. The L series was introduced to meet the demand for smaller and quieter and portable adding-calculator machines. Will possibly sell if price is right
