Geisha Girl

Description A 95 year old aunt in Italy sent it, saying her family had it for a century. It seems to be ceramic or porcelain Geisha - holding a giant egg, the painted finish is rough to the touch. The lower bottom rear shows a mark imprinted as well as an imprinted number (1018 perhaps; hard to read the last digit). The egg size is incongruous; does it have a significance?
