Description We found this bottle while cleaning the house. We asked my boyfriends mother about it and she said that it is a misprint. somehow a little kids toy got stuck in it and it went through the assembly line. its in very good condition, except for the very top lid, which has kinda gone down in looking good due to its old age.

Do you still see bubbles in it when shaken slightly? Does the lid seem tight? I ask the question as it is very unusual for something like this to happen. A bottling plant has the bottles go through at a significant speed so the 'toy' would have to be introduced in a very few ways. 1) in a recycled bottle that did not get cleaned properly AND passed inspection, then missed again at least twice at the bottling plant. 2) in the empty bottle arrivals (deliberately) by either a tour visitor or employee and again missed at a couple of inspection points. or 3) it's something I did as a kid: bottles of this era had very thick caps. It was a simple matter to gently pop the cap (without deforming it) insert something, and then pressure fit the cap back on. (Ok I was a weird kid - get over it! (grin)) The problem was that you released most of the carbonation that way so it rapidly lost it's fizz. Which is why I asked the questions I did. What I notice is that the bottle isn't filled 'almost to the top' as was standard back then. There is way too much air space. That leads me to suspect that I wasn't the only wierd kid back then. It's an interesting vintage bottle, but I don't think it's overly valuable. Sorry.

these can be recapped. the bottle is worth 8-10$ with out the toy. being full you can get like 2-3$ more and maybe a few extra dollars for the toY. any one with a cap and a capper can do this to a regular mt dew bottle . alsoit was common for stuff to be  done after hours for fun in the bottles and taken home.  in have seen a ton of screws and nails etc in the bottle and people trying to sell tham as rare.
