Description I'd like to know the kind of wood used, age, style and ballpark value. I happen to know the seat was re-upholstered about 10 years ago. I have no other knowledge about it as it belonged to my mother who passed away just over 3 years ago. I do not know where she acquired it or how much she paid.

Your chair dates from the turn of the 19th century, similar examples could found in mail order catalogs circa 1898 from Sears- Roebuck and Montgomery- Ward. Values art auction, about $75.00. Lovejoy
