Luckhaus & Gunther sword

Appraisal complete
Description This sword has a brass and bone handle with a lion's head, a steel blade, and a leather sheath. It was most certainly made by Luckhaus & Gunther, but anything beyond that is speculation. Below the brand name is the word, "Remscheid." I am not sure what this means. Any clarification as to the history of this sword would be greatly appreciated.
