two art peices approx 1830? I don't know how to translate the artists name

Description We have two paintings that have been in the family for years. One looks like it is of a small boy holding a cat with "MIAU!". The other peice is of a girl holding a dog and says "Fanny". On the back of one ofthe paintings My family has written. Framed by J H butler in 1862. I have NO idea how much these are worth or if they should be insured. [email protected]
