This spanish desk was purchased by my grandparents at around 1930 for $500.00 from an antique store. They lived in Tampa Fl, but unkown as to where it was purchased. It is a sturdy spanish hardwood desk with a leather worktop and wrought iron bracing underneath. The leather on the desk and the chair is anchored with metal(not sure what kind)caps 1" in diameter that look like ornate flowers. There are two compartments at the rear of the worktop at the corners. they have painted pictures of matadors and bulls on the sloped tops. There is a headboard at the rear between the compartments that slopes down and then rises up in the center what appears to be three waves on either side meeting into what looks like a sea shell with three semi-circle holes under the shell. there is a drawer under the worktop. The desk and chair are remarkably comfortable.

Re: Spanish Desk and Chair
This set is in what's called the "Spanish Revival" style, and was practically new when purchased by your Grandparents. During the 1920’s – 1930’s world-class examples of Spanish Revival architecture were being built by the leading architects of their time. Furniture manufacturers
quickly realized the need to furnish these homes with appropriate styling and reproduction Spanish Revival furniture became an important line for many furniture producers.
