Silver Plated Cocktail SHacker

Profile picture for user Bill Ross
By Bill Ross, 8 June, 2010
Description

A rare cocktail shaker in the form of a carved whiskey barrel. It has nine scenes which depicts
different Tavern scenes of drinkers engaging in festive colonial merriment. The top unscrews
to reveal a pierced side-pour strainer. Impressed marks beneath for the Barbour Silver Plate Co.
in Connecticut. Barbour was a division of the International Silver Co. as were firms that produced
famous Lighthouse and Golf-bag shakers. The Dimensions are: 7 1/4" H, 4" W. The best I have
been able to determine is that this piece was made in the late 1800's to early

This piece is original and was silver plated has not been polished leaving it a bronze tarnished
look.
