This is a historic appraisal from our archive.
From what i have found it is a M1940 heer helmet. The emblem is faded and appears authentic. the production number stamp is clear on inside back. The fleur de lis on the top and crosses drawn on the item was NOT done by myself. Others have told me (unconvincingly) that the Crosses and Fleur de lis if intentionally added by the owner could associate the helmet with the French SS Charlemagne unit which did have Chaplains in their ranks and used the fleur de lis as their symbol.

Re: German Heer Helmet
Did you ever get any information about this helmet? I recently found one with the Nazi symbol on side , however not the one on the back. Would like to sell it but not sure of value.
