Description
This Silver gravy boat was given to us at our wedding by our aunt in Argentina. She said it had been in the family for a while but I do not know how long. Because the silver is tarnished I assume it is made out of real silver, rather than plated with silver. It's quite heavy for its shape and size.
Re: Silver Gravy Boat
Generally silver will have some mark to indicate the purity of the metal used. Most countries have their own way of marking silver, but generally a numeric mark is used, such as "925" ( Sterling is 92.5% pure silver), 900 ( 90% pure) or 800 ( 80% pure). Check your piece all over, if there is no mark you will have to get it tested to determine its silver content before finding out its value.
