History Newl post to the front grand stair case of the Ceylon pavilion carved in ceyon in the late 1880s and then assembled in Chicago by they artisons that created the work. Item can be seen in period photos taken at the Chicago 1893 world fair. After the fair the whole pavilion was purchase and moved to lake Genieva Wisconsin home eventually owned by the may tag family.
