Antique Saddle

Description

This saddle is estimated to be from the early 1900's. No name on saddle just the federal name plate on back. Don't know or heard of a maker/mfg by that name. May of been a samll company bought out during WW2 ??? I am thinking by the turquoise on the back, it was common in Montana, Arizona or California ???  Seems to be in good condition as I had it out in my barns for yrs and it needs a good cleaning & conditioning.

Bought off of farmer years ago. No brandname/mfg on saddle itself. Know that it dates to be made around 1920. Custom made being it has indian carvings on fender of saddles.

I just picked up an exact saddle from our local country grocery store. They had it on a display up above the meat coolers for years, and we traded them a saddle we had for it. The only difference I can see is, I don't have the stuff on the back cantle or the indian on the fender. but the tooling around and everything else seems identical. Have you gotten any information on yours yet? where are you located roughly, I am up in Alberta Canada. just wondering if you are from around here, if maybe the saddle maker was local to this area. I would like to send you some pics of my saddlle so you can see how identical it is. all the tooling and everything is the exact same. same stirrups, everything. I am pretty sure they are twin saddles. let me know where to send the pictures and maybe we could share what we know about these saddles.

I am at my wits end trying to locate any info. on this saddle ! I can assume the stuff on the cantle was added as well as the indian carvings on the fenders. I would be happy to exchange emails and or info on this saddle. I am in the US not far from the canadian border. This is strang that you have the exact same saddle many miles from where I am !! Thanks-
